International Initiatives

 

The following 15 initiatives attended the sister initiatives conference organized by Infect-ERA on June 27th 2013 in Lisbon, Portugal. The conference was organized to initiate communication and to identify common and complementary activities with the aim of establishing cooperation.

ECRIN

European Clinical Research Infrastructures Network

ECRIN is a not-profit, pan-European, distributed infrastructure designed to support multinational clinical trials, in any disease area. Connecting and coordinating the activities of national networks of clinical trial units and clinical research centres, ECRIN provides information and, after scientific review of the study protocol, services for the conduct of multinational trials (including ethical and regulatory submissions, study monitoring, adverse event reporting, data management).

ELIXIR

European life sciences infrastructure for biological information

ELIXIR bridges life sciences and ICT. Its mission is to build a sustainable European infrastructure for biological information, supporting life science research and its application by storage of genomic data. Its vision is that in 2020, ELIXIR will provide to the community a fully integrated user interface offering data provision, standards, tools development and training.

Emperie

European management platform for emerging and re-emerging infectious disease entities

This FP7 funded project, started after the SARS epidemic, aims at establishing a powerful network capable of structural and systematic prediction, identification, modeling and surveillance of infectious diseases, health threats and pathogens. Three integrative platforms are combined: virus discovery and sequencing, technology and knowledge development and training and technology exchange. The main achievements include development of new models and discovery of new viruses.
