Innovative Medicines Initiative 

IMI is supporting public-private partnership projects with the goal to make drug R&D processes more efficient and to enhance Europe’s competitiveness in the pharma sector. Currently, 40 IMI projects are up and running and involve academics, SMEs, regulatory agencies, clinical organizations, patient organizations, and EFPIA teams. Infectious diseases represent the field with the highest funding rate, receiving 16% of the total funding (June 2013).
